Blizzard has officially announced World of Warcraft Forever, its answer to the long-requested World of Warcraft Classic Plus concept, with a beta beginning September 17 and the full release scheduled for November 4.
Revealed during BlizzCon 2026, WoW Forever is designed to remain close to the foundations of the original World of Warcraft while introducing a substantial amount of completely new content.

WoW Forever Expands Classic World of Warcraft
Blizzard describes World of Warcraft Forever as “friendly, familiar, and new,” keeping the classic MMORPG experience recognizable while expanding it beyond the content players already know.
The biggest additions include more than 1,000 new quests, new zones, dungeons and raids, alongside improved PvP.
Players can also expect new professions, additional reputations, updated visuals and an entirely new playable race.
The level cap will remain at 60, with Blizzard designing the new content to support players across different stages of progression rather than focusing exclusively on the endgame.
Importantly, WoW Forever isn’t intended to be a one-off release. Blizzard plans to continue supporting it with additional post-launch content, allowing this alternative version of World of Warcraft to keep growing over time.
World of Warcraft Forever Launches November 4
Players attending BlizzCon in Anaheim can already try WoW Forever on the show floor, but everyone else won’t have to wait much longer.
The WoW Forever beta begins September 17, followed by the full launch on November 4, 2026.
After years of players asking Blizzard for a Classic Plus-style experience, World of Warcraft Forever appears to be the company’s answer: the foundations of classic WoW combined with entirely new quests, locations, raids and progression content.
