Call of Duty Warzone Adds Operator Skin Toggle to Hide Crossover Skins

Activision is adding a new Operator Skin Toggle to Call of Duty: Warzone, allowing players to replace other players’ equipped cosmetics with more traditional Modern Warfare 4 Operators on their own screen.

The feature will arrive alongside Warzone Season 1 and addresses a long-running complaint from players who feel Call of Duty’s increasingly unusual crossover skins clash with the franchise’s military aesthetic.

Importantly, enabling the option won’t change what anyone else sees. It only affects how other players appear from your perspective.

Warzone’s Operator Skin Toggle Explained

When enabled, the new setting will replace other players’ equipped skins with a random Modern Warfare 4 Operator.

That means players who prefer a more grounded visual experience won’t have to see some of Call of Duty’s more unconventional cosmetics, while those using the skins can continue doing so normally.

The setting isn't a filter for individual skins — when enabled, it replaces other players' equipped cosmetics with randomly selected Modern Warfare 4 Operators on the user's screen.

The Operator Skin Toggle will be disabled by default, so players who enjoy the existing cosmetic system won’t notice any difference unless they choose to activate it.

Call of Duty has introduced increasingly unusual collaborations over the years, ranging from Nicki Minaj and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to American Dad, creating a significant divide among players over how the franchise should look.

Activision previously addressed those concerns when announcing Modern Warfare 4, promising to “stay true to Modern Warfare” and avoid “clowny skins for launch and seasons beyond.”

With older Operator skins carrying forward into Warzone, however, the new toggle provides another solution: players can simply hide cosmetics they don’t want to see without removing them from the game for everyone else.

The feature will become available with Warzone Season 1.
