The Witcher 3: Remastered Breaks the Game’s All-Time Steam Player Record

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has reached a new all-time concurrent player peak on Steam following the release of its massive Remastered update.

According to SteamDB, The Witcher 3 reached 116,626 concurrent players shortly after the Remastered update launched, setting a new record for CD Projekt RED’s acclaimed RPG.

The number was still increasing at the time it was recorded, meaning the new peak could climb even higher as more players return to the game.

The Witcher 3 Returns More Than a Decade Later

The previous major Steam resurgence came in 2019, when the release of Netflix’s The Witcher series helped push concurrent player numbers beyond 100,000.

This time, the renewed interest follows the launch of The Witcher 3: Remastered, a substantial update introducing visual and gameplay improvements to the 2015 RPG.

The update includes upgraded visuals, enhanced combat, an adaptive combat camera, improved traversal and movement, new Witcher Sign effects, revamped horse handling, enhanced monster behavior, skill tree changes and an expanded Photo Mode.

Players also receive the game’s previous DLC content, while CD Projekt RED is preparing another major reason to return to Geralt’s adventure.

The new Songs of the Past expansion is scheduled for 2027, giving players additional Witcher 3 content more than a decade after the original game’s release.

With the Remastered update already producing a new Steam record on its first day, The Witcher 3 is experiencing another major resurgence ahead of its upcoming expansion.
