Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will offer Hard Mode immediately, unlike Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
The change means experienced players can challenge themselves from the beginning without completing the campaign first.

Speaking with Hardcore Gamer, Hamaguchi explained the decision.
“Hard Mode is selectable from the very start of this game,” he confirmed.
According to Hamaguchi, the change is connected to the game’s expanded post-game content.
Previous entries required players to finish the main story before unlocking Hard Mode, encouraging a second playthrough for those seeking the toughest challenges.
