BeamNG.drive Looks Impressive in First PS5 Pro Gameplay

The first extended look at BeamNG.drive running on PS5 Pro has emerged ahead of its October 19 launch, showing the physics-heavy driving game performing surprisingly well on console.

YouTuber MuYe has published an early test of the PS5 Pro version, showcasing gameplay, the new console interface and some of the limitations players can expect.

BeamNG.drive is particularly demanding because of its detailed soft-body physics simulation, with individual vehicle components tracked at 240Hz to create highly realistic crashes and deformation.

BeamNG.drive Runs Well on PS5 Pro — With Some Limits

According to the early footage, normal gameplay performs well on PS5 Pro, including when using split-screen multiplayer.

Performance can begin to drop when spawning large numbers of vehicles, although this is also a limitation players can encounter on PC.

The PS5 version will not support mods at launch, but the developer says it is exploring potential ways to introduce mod support in the future.

Otherwise, the console release will include the content available in the PC version, including the upcoming v0.40 update, which launches alongside the PS5 version on October 19.

Pricing has not yet been announced.
