Rockstar Games has delivered its biggest official look at GTA 6 yet, showcasing around 26 minutes of PlayStation 5 gameplay focused on Jason and Lucia, Vice City, combat, driving and the enormous world surrounding them.
After years of trailers, speculation and leaks, Rockstar has finally given players a substantial look at what Grand Theft Auto 6 actually looks like in action.
The new GTA 6 Extended Look runs for just under half an hour and follows Jason and Lucia through different stages of their story while offering extended glimpses at everyday life across Vice City.
There’s driving, gunfights with police and criminals, quieter character moments and plenty of opportunities to simply admire Rockstar’s extraordinarily detailed open world.
Most importantly, Rockstar confirmed that all of the footage shown was captured on a standard PlayStation 5.

GTA 6’s Extended Look Focuses on Jason and Lucia
While previous trailers introduced the protagonists and established the atmosphere of GTA 6’s world, the new footage spends considerably more time exploring Jason and Lucia’s relationship and journey.
The presentation moves between different stages of their story, mixing narrative sequences with open-world gameplay.
There are plenty of familiar GTA moments along the way, including high-speed driving and violent confrontations with both criminals and law enforcement.
But some of the smaller scenes might be just as interesting.
Jason can briefly be seen eating snacks, while Lucia is shown sparring, offering another glimpse at the everyday activities Rockstar has built into the game. There’s even what appears to be some form of backyard wrestling during one of the trailer’s quick cuts.
These moments fit with Rockstar’s wider push to make GTA 6 a world players actually live in rather than simply travel through between missions.
Mega Mundo Event Ends in Chaos
One of the extended look’s biggest sequences arrives toward the end.
Jason and Lucia are shown working security during an opening event for Mega Mundo, but things quickly spiral out of control when rivals interrupt the event.
What begins as a security job erupts into a massive shootout, with bullets flying and multiple casualties as Jason and Lucia find themselves caught in the middle of the violence.
Lucia appears to be in particularly serious danger during the closing moments of the sequence.
The footage then concludes by teasing something potentially significant about GTA 6’s wider world, giving players another mystery to dissect ahead of launch.
GTA 6’s Vice City Is Reportedly Twice the Size of GTA 5’s Los Santos
Rockstar Shows Off GTA 6 Running on PS5
Beyond the story, the presentation provides arguably the best demonstration yet of GTA 6’s technical ambition.
Rockstar reiterated at the end of the extended look that the footage was captured entirely on PlayStation 5.
That’s particularly noteworthy considering the density visible throughout Vice City.
Busy streets, detailed interiors, large crowds, traffic and environmental effects all contribute to a world that looks substantially more complex than GTA 5.
Recent details from Rockstar have also revealed just how ambitious the underlying simulation has become. NPCs can react more dynamically to confrontations, police can build Criminal Profiles based on witness descriptions, and players may need to change vehicles or clothing to properly disappear after committing crimes.
Combine those systems with what Rockstar has now shown visually, and GTA 6 increasingly looks like far more than simply a larger version of GTA 5.
GTA 6’s Soundtrack Gets Plenty of Attention
Naturally, music remains an important part of the GTA experience.
The extended presentation features several recognizable artists, including Sexyy Red, Depeche Mode and Phil Collins at different points throughout the footage.
Rockstar has always used licensed music to help establish the identity of its worlds, and GTA 6’s modern Vice City setting should give the studio plenty of opportunities to build another enormous soundtrack.
We’ll have to wait for more information before knowing exactly how extensive the game’s radio stations and licensed track selection will be.
GTA 6’s Netflix Premiere Drew Massive Attention
The Extended Look was initially presented through a major collaboration with Netflix, and demand to watch it was unsurprisingly enormous.
The platform reportedly experienced problems around 3:00 PM ET, just as the GTA 6 footage was scheduled to premiere.
Considering GTA 6 is following a game that has remained enormously popular for more than a decade, the level of interest isn’t particularly surprising.
More importantly, the presentation finally gave players something they’ve wanted for years: a lengthy, official look at GTA 6 rather than another collection of brief cinematic sequences.
And after 26 minutes of Jason, Lucia and Vice City, there’s now considerably more to talk about.
Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
