007 First Light has been delayed on Nintendo Switch 2, with developer IO Interactive confirming that the portable version will now launch in March 2027.

The studio says it needs additional development time specifically to improve and polish the game’s performance on Nintendo’s latest hardware. An exact March release date will be announced later.

Nintendo Switch 2 Version Needs More Time

In its announcement, the 007 First Light team explained that the delay was made to ensure the Switch 2 version reaches the expected quality level.

“To ensure we deliver the quality of experience players expect, we have made the decision to delay the release to March 2027, with the exact date to be communicated later.”

The additional development time will be focused on polishing the Nintendo Switch 2 performance.

Importantly, the announcement only concerns the Switch 2 edition and does not indicate a broader delay for 007 First Light on other platforms.

007 First Light Heads to Tokyo Game Show

The team also highlighted the positive reception to the game’s recent Gamescom appearance, saying the feedback was an encouraging sign of its overall development progress.

Players attending Tokyo Game Show this week will be able to try the same 007 First Light demo previously shown at Gamescom.
