A cancelled Assassin’s Creed game developed by Ubisoft and Tencent’s TiMi Studio Group has reportedly surfaced online, revealing a previously unknown adventure set in ancient China.
New details have emerged about Assassin’s Creed Destiny, an unannounced project reportedly developed through a collaboration between Ubisoft and Tencent’s TiMi Studio Group.
According to MP1st, leaked screenshots and gameplay footage originate from a prototype created in February 2025.
The project was reportedly cancelled before reaching full production.
Assassin’s Creed Destiny Was Set in Ancient China
The leaked prototype reportedly takes place in 206 BC, during the final years of China’s Qin dynasty.
This would have placed the game more than 1,700 years before the events of Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China.
According to the report, the prototype featured:
- A female Assassin as the playable protagonist.
- Ancient China in 206 BC as the historical setting.
- A sacred palace containing a mysterious artifact.
- Xiang Yu, a historical military leader, attacking the palace.
- Early gameplay footage and screenshots from a February 2025 build.
The scenario reportedly followed the protagonist as she attempted to recover an artifact during the attack.
Ubisoft and Tencent Were Developing the Game Together
Assassin’s Creed Destiny was reportedly a collaboration between Ubisoft and TiMi Studio Group, Tencent’s game development subsidiary.
MP1st claims the project was cancelled shortly after the prototype was created, following restructuring at TiMi.
The report also places the cancellation within a period of broader organizational changes involving Ubisoft and Tencent.
However, neither company has officially confirmed the project’s development or cancellation, and the leaked materials have not been independently verified.
For now, Assassin’s Creed Destiny offers an intriguing glimpse at another historical setting Ubisoft reportedly explored but never brought to market.
