Nintendo has officially announced Kirby and the World Beyond, a brand-new 3D Kirby adventure coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027.
The game was revealed as the final announcement of the September 2026 Nintendo Direct, with its debut trailer showcasing an open 3D world, new abilities and a mysterious second world waiting beyond the boundaries of Kirby’s familiar surroundings.

Kirby Is Breaking Into a New World
The trailer begins with traditional Kirby gameplay, showing the character exploring large 3D environments, platforming and battling enemies and bosses.
Things become considerably stranger when Kirby sends a boss flying beyond the boundaries of the world, creating a massive hole in the sky and revealing the mystery behind the game’s World Beyond title.
Kirby later absorbs an enormous crystal sword filled with energy, triggering a powerful new transformation. The ability allows him to slice through huge obstacles before eventually using the weapon to tear open the hole in the sky.
Beyond it lies an entirely new world for Kirby to explore, although Nintendo hasn’t yet revealed exactly what players will encounter there or how the two worlds will connect.
Kirby and the World Beyond launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027.
