The Blood of Dawnwalker October Update Will Bring Combat and Performance Improvements

Rebel Wolves has outlined its post-launch plans for The Blood of Dawnwalker, including a major October patch, performance improvements, combat changes and the possibility of New Game Plus and additional enemy types.

Following the game’s launch, the studio is already working through player feedback and preparing a substantial update for October 2026.

Among the biggest areas being addressed are performance, combat movement, enemy behavior and several quality-of-life improvements.

New Game Plus and More Enemy Variety Are Being Explored

New Game Plus was also discussed as part of Rebel Wolves' post-launch plans. While it was initially described as something the studio was exploring, game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz has since confirmed that New Game Plus is coming. A release date has not yet been announced.

The studio is also considering introducing additional enemy types to increase combat variety throughout the game.

Another planned addition is an Ultra-Easy difficulty option, giving players who primarily want to experience the story an even more accessible way to play.

Combat Camera and Movement Are Being Improved

Several changes directly address how combat currently feels.

The camera will soon remain locked onto an enemy after that enemy has been stunned, rather than breaking the lock. Rebel Wolves is also working on running during combat and making it easier to disengage from encounters.

Escaping fights can currently result in players becoming caught on environmental objects, so the studio is working on changes designed to make running away from combat smoother.

Open-world animal behavior is being adjusted as well. Animals will no longer immediately become aggressive simply because the player passes them while moving quickly using Haste or wolf form.

Performance and FPS Improvements Are Coming

Optimization remains another major focus for Rebel Wolves.

The studio is working on performance fixes and FPS improvements, with further optimization expected as part of its ongoing post-launch support.

However, one element Rebel Wolves currently has no plans to change is enemy health.

Some players have criticized certain enemies for feeling too much like damage sponges, but the studio doesn’t intend to reduce their health pools. Rebel Wolves believes the game’s character-building systems already allow players to create high-DPS builds capable of dealing significantly more damage.

With a major patch planned for October and several additional features still being explored, Rebel Wolves’ post-launch work on The Blood of Dawnwalker is already taking shape.
