One of the most beloved fantasy adventures in VR history is finally making the jump to PC and consoles.
Polyarc has officially announced Moss: The Forgotten Relic, a beautifully reimagined version of the award-winning Moss experience, launching this summer for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1|2, and PC via Steam.
Honestly, it already looks absolutely magical.
Quill’s Adventure Is Finally Leaving VR Behind
For years, the Moss franchise has been one of VR gaming’s biggest hidden gems thanks to its emotional storytelling, miniature storybook world, and unique connection between player and protagonist.
Now, Polyarc is bringing Quill’s journey to a much bigger audience with a fully enhanced non-VR experience featuring:
- Modernized visuals
- Newly designed cinematic cutscenes
- Improved camera systems
- Enhanced platform-specific features
- Refined gameplay and accessibility options
The game still keeps its signature “Twofold” gameplay style, where players not only control Quill directly but also interact with the world itself as her mysterious guardian known as the Reader.

A Fantasy World That Looks Straight Out of a Storybook
Set in a fallen kingdom slowly being reclaimed by nature, Moss: The Forgotten Relic combines exploration, environmental puzzles, hidden secrets, and cinematic combat encounters inside handcrafted diorama-style environments.
Polyarc also confirmed optional “skip combat” accessibility features, allowing more players to experience the emotional adventure regardless of gameplay difficulty.
The soundtrack is once again composed by Jason Graves, whose work helped define the atmosphere of the original games.
One of VR’s Most Awarded Franchises Is Going Mainstream
The Moss series has received more than 160 awards and nominations, including recognition from BAFTA, D.I.C.E., and The Game Awards.
According to Danny Bulla, Co-Founder and Design Director at Polyarc:
“With The Forgotten Relic, we’re excited to invite players into Quill’s journey to share the wonder, mystery, and heart at the center of Moss.”
Additional details about the game will be revealed during IGN Live from June 6–8.
Players can already wishlist the game on Steam.
Moss Could Finally Reach the Audience It Always Deserved
The original Moss games became some of the most beloved VR adventures ever made thanks to their emotional storytelling, creative puzzle design, and incredible world-building.
Now that the series is finally arriving on traditional platforms, this could easily become the moment Quill turns from a VR icon into a mainstream indie gaming favorite.
