Forza Horizon 6 is already shaping up to be one of the biggest racing game launches in recent memory — and the game technically has not even fully released yet.
Early Access for the Premium Edition officially began on May 15, while the global launch for all players is scheduled for May 19.
And based on the latest numbers, players are absolutely flooding into the game.
Over 1 Million Players Already Jumped Into Forza Horizon 6
According to a screenshot shared online by DayOne, nearly 1.2 million players have already entered Forza Horizon 6 ahead of launch.
That number is especially wild considering access is currently limited primarily to players who purchased the Premium Edition.
At the time of writing, Steam alone is showing:
- Over 118,000 concurrent players
- Earlier peaks exceeding 178,000 players
- Massive global activity before standard launch access even begins
And honestly?
Those are ridiculous numbers for a racing game.

Premium Edition Revenue May Have Already Crossed $140 Million
The Premium Edition of Forza Horizon 6 currently costs around $120, depending on the region.
If the 1.2 million player estimate is accurate, the game may have already generated over $140 million in revenue purely from Premium Edition purchases alone.
Before full launch.
That means Microsoft and Xbox Game Studios are potentially looking at one of the strongest early-access launches the genre has ever seen.
And the numbers will likely explode even further once standard edition players officially gain access worldwide on May 19.

Critics Are Loving the Game So Far
The critical reception for Forza Horizon 6 has also been extremely strong.
Based on more than 65 reviews, the game currently holds a 92 score on Metacritic, alongside the platform’s “Must-Play” badge.
Several outlets — including Insider Gaming — have already awarded the game perfect scores.
The few lower-scoring reviews mainly criticize the game for lacking long-term depth in some areas, though the overall consensus remains overwhelmingly positive.
Japan-Inspired Setting Is Already Becoming a Huge Hit
One of the biggest reasons behind the hype is the game’s Japanese-inspired setting and atmosphere, which many fans had been requesting for years.
From neon-lit city streets to mountain roads and countryside routes, the new map appears to have instantly connected with the community.
Meanwhile, modders have already started experimenting with the game despite it only being available in Early Access for a short time.
So yes…
Forza Horizon 6 is already making absurd amounts of money, dominating Steam charts, and pulling in massive review scores — all before most players can even launch the game.
And the real launch hasn’t even started yet.
