Take-Two CEO Once Again Reaffirms GTA 6 Release Date

Once again, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has reassured fans that Grand Theft Auto VI is still on track for its November 19, 2026 release date.

Normally, a third confirmation of a game’s launch window would not be huge news.

But this is GTA 6.

At this point, there are literally teenagers entering high school who were not even born when Grand Theft Auto V originally launched back in 2013.

GTA 6 Has Already Been Delayed Multiple Times

Originally, Rockstar Games planned to launch GTA 6 in 2025 before eventually moving the game to May 2026.

The project was then delayed again in late 2025, with the release date officially landing on November 19, 2026.

Back in April during the iicon event for industry executives, Zelnick jokingly claimed that many people would probably be “calling in sick” on launch day.

Now, he has doubled down on the release date once again — this time sounding even more confident.

Speaking to David Senra, Zelnick directly stated that he knows exactly when the game is releasing:

November 19, 2026.

When asked about the multiple delays, he responded:

“I think we’re about 18 months behind the original date. Not much more than that.”

Take-Two CEO Calls GTA “The Most Valuable Entertainment IP Ever”

The conversation eventually shifted toward the overall value of the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

And according to Zelnick, GTA may not just be the biggest gaming IP in the world…

…it could actually be the most valuable entertainment property ever created.

While he acknowledged that franchises like Mario Kart and Call of Duty are difficult to compare directly, he still made it clear how highly Take-Two views the GTA brand.

“I think in terms of the value of the IP, most people believe it is the most valuable entertainment IP ever created.”

Considering GTA 5 has already sold well over 200 million copies globally, it’s honestly difficult to argue against that statement.

GTA 6 Review Copies May Never Exist

The second major rumor surrounding GTA 6 is arguably even crazier.

According to Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe, Rockstar Games and Take-Two may completely refuse to distribute review copies or review codes ahead of launch.

Instead, media outlets and journalists could reportedly be invited to highly controlled preview events hosted directly by Rockstar itself.

And yes — the reports claim journalists may even be monitored on-site to prevent leaks.

GTA 6 Preorders Could Begin Next Week as Best Buy Email Sparks Massive Speculation

Rockstar Wants Absolute Secrecy

Honestly, this would not be surprising at all.

Every publisher risks leaks whenever review copies are distributed early, but GTA 6 exists on an entirely different level of anticipation.

This is likely going to become:

  • The fastest-selling game ever released
  • One of the most expensive games ever made
  • The biggest entertainment launch in history

And after Rockstar already suffered massive leaks earlier in development, it makes sense that the company would want complete control over every final detail before launch.

According to the claims, journalists may potentially:

  • Travel to Rockstar-hosted preview events
  • Play the game only inside secure locations
  • Have devices removed during sessions
  • Be supervised while testing the game

And honestly?

That sounds exactly like something Rockstar would do for GTA 6.

GTA 6 Hype Is Reaching Unreal Levels

At this point, GTA 6 almost feels bigger than gaming itself.

Every new rumor instantly dominates social media, every comment from Take-Two becomes headline news, and fans continue analyzing every tiny detail surrounding the project.

Whether Rockstar actually blocks all review copies remains unclear for now.

But one thing is becoming very obvious:

Take-Two and Rockstar are treating GTA 6 less like a normal game launch…

…and more like the biggest entertainment event on the planet.
