The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is officially heading to Nintendo Switch 2 this summer, with Bethesda confirming the game’s release date alongside a brand-new trailer.
After announcing earlier this year that the acclaimed RPG would arrive on Nintendo’s newest console in 2026, Bethesda has now revealed that players won’t have to wait much longer.
Oblivion Remastered Launches on August 11
A new release date trailer confirms that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11, 2026.
The trailer puts a humorous spin on one of the game’s most iconic characters—the Adoring Fan—who follows a real-world player everywhere, enthusiastically commenting on every mistake they make.
As the player’s frustration grows, they eventually discover there’s only one way to escape the overly devoted companion: jump back into Oblivion Remastered.
The lighthearted trailer pays tribute to one of the Elder Scrolls series’ most memorable fan-favorite NPCs.
Switch 2 Version Includes Motion Controls
Bethesda also confirmed that the Switch 2 edition will feature exclusive motion controls, allowing players to swing weapons, aim attacks, and interact with the world in new ways using Nintendo’s hardware.
Beyond the new control options, the port includes all of the visual and gameplay improvements introduced in the remaster, including:
- Fully updated character models
- Improved environments and textures
- Enhanced combat animations
- Modernized lighting and visual effects
- Refined gameplay systems
Includes Every Major Expansion and DLC
The Switch 2 release comes bundled with all major post-launch content released for the original game.
Players will receive:
Story Expansions
- Shivering Isles
- Knights of the Nine
Included DLC
- Fighter’s Stronghold
- Spell Tomes
- Vile Lair
- Mehrune’s Razor
- The Thieves Den
- Wizard’s Tower
- The Orrery
- Horse Armor Pack
That makes the Switch 2 version the complete Oblivion experience straight out of the box.
Another Major Third-Party Release for Switch 2
Oblivion Remastered joins a growing lineup of major third-party games making their way to Nintendo Switch 2 as publishers continue to support the platform with modern AAA releases.
With the game already surpassing 9 million players across all platforms, Bethesda will soon give Nintendo fans their first opportunity to experience the remastered journey through Cyrodiil on the go.
