After years of rumors and speculation, Bethesda has officially confirmed that remasters of both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are currently in active development.

The announcement came as part of a company update released in the wake of Microsoft’s recent Xbox layoffs, which also impacted Bethesda and ZeniMax. Alongside discussing the studio’s future projects, Bethesda finally addressed one of the community’s longest-running requests.

“We also know many players want to revisit previous Fallout experiences. While we’re not announcing any dates today, we have been working on remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.”

Although the studio stopped short of revealing gameplay, screenshots, or release windows, this marks the first official confirmation that the two classic Fallout titles are being updated for modern platforms.
