Sony has updated the “Last Chance to Play” section of PlayStation Plus, revealing the next batch of titles leaving the Game Catalog in August 2026. A total of nine games are scheduled for removal, including the critically acclaimed Dead Island 2.

As always, while new games arrive each month for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, several titles also leave the service, giving players only a limited amount of time to finish them.

Dead Island 2 Headlines August’s Departures

Among the games leaving the service, Dead Island 2 is arguably the biggest loss.

If you’ve been meaning to try the zombie-slaying action game, now is the perfect opportunity before it disappears from the subscription library.

Set across a virus-ravaged version of Los Angeles, Dead Island 2 combines fast-paced first-person combat with an impressive gore system, a wide selection of weapons, and dozens of unique zombie variants. It’s easily one of the standout titles currently available on PlayStation Plus.

Games Delayed from July to August

The following titles were originally scheduled to leave in July but will now remain available until August 18:

• Clash: Artifacts of Chaos
• Röki
• Onee Chanbara Origin
• Bomber Crew
• Space Crew: Legendary Edition

The four newly added games have not yet received official removal dates, but they are expected to leave when Sony refreshes the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog later in August.

Don’t Wait Too Long

If any of these games are sitting in your backlog, now is the time to start playing them.

Once a game leaves the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, subscribers lose access unless they purchase the title separately. Progress and save files will remain on your console or cloud storage, but you’ll need to own the game to continue playing.

Sony is expected to announce the next wave of PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium additions later this month, bringing new games to replace those leaving the service.

Until then, subscribers still have a few weeks to enjoy these nine titles before they disappear from the PlayStation Plus library.
