Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that CONTROL Resonant has officially gone gold, meaning the highly anticipated sequel is ready for its September launch. However, players planning to purchase a physical copy will have to wait an additional month.
CONTROL Resonant is the sequel to Remedy’s critically acclaimed 2019 action game Control, and anticipation has continued to build ahead of release. Remedy recently revealed that the sequel could offer almost twice as many hours of content as its predecessor, while early previews have also been overwhelmingly positive.
Now, with development reaching another major milestone, the digital release looks firmly on track.

CONTROL Resonant Goes Gold Ahead of September Release
Remedy Entertainment announced through its official social media channels that CONTROL Resonant has gone gold more than a month ahead of launch.
For those unfamiliar with the term, a game “going gold” traditionally means that its launch version has completed development and is ready for manufacturing and distribution.
It’s an important milestone and means Remedy has successfully completed the core development process well ahead of release.
The studio can, of course, continue working on patches, updates, and improvements before and after launch, but the announcement provides some reassurance that another delay to the digital version is unlikely.
Unfortunately, the same release date won’t apply to physical copies.
CONTROL Resonant Physical Edition Delayed Until October 15
While the digital version remains on schedule, Remedy confirmed that it needs “just a little more time” to prepare CONTROL Resonant’s physical edition.
As a result, physical copies have been delayed until October 15, 2026.
That creates an unusual situation where players who prefer physical media will need to wait around a month longer than those purchasing the game digitally.
No specific reason for the physical delay was provided beyond Remedy requiring additional time.
Importantly, the delay doesn’t affect the main digital launch, meaning players comfortable purchasing CONTROL Resonant through digital storefronts can still jump into the sequel as originally planned.

CONTROL Resonant Pre-Order Bonuses Revealed
Pre-orders for CONTROL Resonant are already available, with players receiving several additional in-game items for purchasing the game ahead of launch.
Pre-order bonuses include the Hiss Corruption Outfits and Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact.
There’s also a Digital Deluxe Edition featuring several additional extras, including:
- Digital Artbook
- Original Soundtrack
- Untapped Artifact (Wallet)
- Starter Resource Bundle
- AWE Mission Outfit
These bonuses arrive alongside what Remedy has described as a considerably larger experience than the original Control.
The developer has also been confident about the sequel’s prospects, recently describing CONTROL Resonant as a “must-have day-one purchase” while outlining its ambitions to transform Control into a lasting franchise.
With the game now officially gold, the biggest remaining disappointment is reserved for physical collectors.
Digital players remain set to enter Remedy’s latest supernatural adventure as planned, while anyone determined to put CONTROL Resonant on their shelf will have to wait until October 15.
