GameStop is currently selling pre-owned and refurbished PS5 Pro consoles for $1,399.99 — $500 more than the console’s current $899.99 retail price.
Finding a new PS5 Pro appears to be difficult right now, and GameStop is taking advantage of the limited availability with a significant premium on its used consoles.
Both pre-owned and refurbished PS5 Pro systems are listed at $1,399.99. GameStop Pro members receive a discount, but even then the price remains an eye-watering $1,329.99.
Used PS5 Pro Costs $500 More Than New
Sony originally launched the PS5 Pro in November 2024 for $699.99, before its price later increased to $899.99.
That means GameStop’s current used price is approximately 56% higher than the console’s current new retail price — and exactly $500 more.
GameStop hasn’t explained the unusual pricing, although the PS5 Pro is reportedly difficult to find in stock across major US retailers, including Sony’s own store.
Whether buyers are willing to spend nearly $1,400 for a used PS5 Pro is another question, particularly when that price is significantly above Sony’s already increased MSRP.
