Xbox CEO Asha Sharma says the gaming business has started to “return to growth” after previously reaching what she described internally as an “all time low.”
Speaking during an internal Xbox town hall, Sharma discussed the state of the business following a year of major restructuring and strategic changes.
According to a transcript obtained by Windows Central, Xbox had been experiencing declines in hours played, new and active players, and revenue before its recent changes.
Sharma now says those trends are beginning to reverse.

Xbox Growth Reportedly Up 2 to 3 Times
“We’re making the right decisions to reinvest in the business, after an all time low, we’ve started to return to growth, more than 2 to 3 times what we were, and we expect that continue,” Sharma said.
She also pointed to strong starts for Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons 2 and World of Warcraft Forever, while claiming positive sentiment surrounding Xbox has increased by 30% over the past year.
The comments come after a difficult period for Microsoft’s gaming division, including multiple rounds of layoffs and significant studio restructuring.
Sharma’s comments suggest Xbox leadership believes those changes are now beginning to produce results, although specific financial figures supporting the claimed return to growth were not provided in the report.
