Mafia 3: Definitive Edition is now available natively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, featuring 60 FPS gameplay, technical improvements and free upgrades for eligible existing owners.
To celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary, 2K has officially released updated versions of Mafia 3: Definitive Edition for current-generation consoles.
The release follows recent ESRB ratings suggesting that several Mafia Definitive Editions were preparing to launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Mafia 3 Now Runs at 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
The new versions introduce 60 FPS gameplay, with many real-time cinematics also running at 60 FPS. Pre-rendered cutscenes remain at 30 FPS.
Additional improvements include:
- More reliable Trophy and Achievement tracking.
- Fixes for missions that previously blocked progression.
- Improved lighting, textures and vegetation rendering.
- Reduced visual pop-in during gameplay and driving.
- Better NPC behavior and overall stability.
The Definitive Edition includes the original campaign, all three story expansions and additional bonus content.
Free Upgrades Available, but Save Transfers Are Not Supported
Existing owners can access the new versions at no additional cost, subject to platform-specific conditions.
PS4 owners, including those with physical copies, qualify for a free digital PS5 upgrade. Xbox One owners qualify if they own the digital version, but physical Xbox One copies are excluded.
However, existing save files cannot be transferred from PS4 or Xbox One to their respective current-generation versions.
Alongside the console releases, 2K has launched a Steam update addressing mission progression, Achievement tracking, stability and visual issues. It also introduces additional FPS limit options, including 120, 144, 180 and 240 FPS.
Mafia 3: Definitive Edition is currently discounted by up to 80% across PlayStation, Xbox and Steam for a limited time.
