Instead, the current direction for Halo Next is said to revolve around expanding the universe through newer threats — particularly The Endless, a mysterious faction introduced during Halo Infinite.

The report claims the project has internally been referred to as “Campaign Next” during studio-wide meetings and has allegedly been in development since 2022.

Fueling speculation even further, a newly discovered job listing for a Narrative Design Director appears to directly reference Halo Next.

The listing mentions responsibilities such as:

• Defining and delivering the narrative experience for Halo Next

• Making the experience accessible to new players while meaningful to longtime fans

Most notably, the listing repeatedly references a “campaign experience,” strongly suggesting this is a full single-player project rather than a multiplayer-focused title.
