Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition has officially been announced, bringing a major story expansion, a new roguelike-inspired survival mode, additional Trophies, cosmetics, and more to Sucker Punch’s open-world adventure.
The Complete Edition launches on October 1, 2026, exactly one year after Ghost of Yotei’s original release. Its biggest additions are the new Echoes of Sekigahara narrative expansion and Most Wanted combat survival mode.
Existing Ghost of Yotei owners won’t need to purchase the entire game again, either, with a Complete Edition upgrade available separately.
Ghost of Yotei: Echoes of Sekigahara Expands Atsu’s Story
The biggest addition is Echoes of Sekigahara, a new narrative expansion that dives deeper into Atsu’s past while introducing another unexplored region.
Players will meet Nagato, a character connected to Atsu’s history, with the expansion telling its story across both the present day and flashbacks.
In the present, Atsu travels to an unseen valley once occupied by The Snake and his loyal gang, the Vipers.
The flashback sequences will take players much further into Atsu’s history, allowing them to experience her involvement in the Battle of Sekigahara and learn more about the events that ultimately led to her returning home and beginning her quest for vengeance.
Echoes of Sekigahara won’t simply add another story, either. The expansion introduces new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes, and other content to discover.
Sucker Punch says more information about the expansion will be revealed closer to release.
Most Wanted Brings Roguelike Survival to Ghost of Yotei
The second major addition is Most Wanted, a new single-player combat survival mode described as Sucker Punch’s take on a roguelike.
Players begin runs by accepting bounties before fighting through enemies, collecting perks, and gradually unlocking additional playable characters.
Each character specializes in a different combat style.
Atsu fights using Dual Katana, Oyuki specializes in the kusarigama, while newcomer Nagato uses the Yari.
The structure should provide a considerably different experience from Ghost of Yotei’s main open world, with the focus instead placed on repeatable combat runs and progressively improving your chances of survival.
More details regarding Most Wanted’s progression and gameplay systems will be revealed later.
Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition Includes New Trophies & Cosmetics
The Complete Edition also bundles the content previously included with the Digital Deluxe Edition alongside several new additions.
Players can expect:
- Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion
- Most Wanted single-player roguelike mode
- New Trophies for Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted
- New heavy weapons, armor sets, and dyes
- Charm of Hokkyokusei
- New tracks for Watanabe Mode
- Additional Photo Mode stamps
- New cosmetics for New Game+
- All previously released Digital Deluxe Edition in-game content
Players who purchase the Complete Edition before September 30 will also receive an early unlock for the Sakai Armor, paying tribute to Jin Sakai’s family armor from Ghost of Tsushima.
Beauty of Yotei Mode Coming as a Free Update
Sucker Punch is also releasing a new update alongside the Complete Edition on October 1.
The update introduces Beauty of Yotei, a new mode designed to showcase the landscapes and environments of Ezo.
Rather than being another combat activity, Beauty of Yotei essentially transforms the game into an atmospheric screensaver-like experience, allowing players to sit back and enjoy its environments.
It’s a fitting addition considering how heavily both Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei lean into their visual presentation and landscapes.
