Insomniac Games has released a brand-new update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, celebrating the theatrical debut of Spider-Man: Brand New Day with two free costumes for all players.

The update introduces the Brand New Day Suit inspired by the latest Spider-Man movie, alongside a surprise crossover costume based on MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Best of all, both suits are available at no additional cost.

Two Free Spider-Man Suits Now Available

While fans already knew the Brand New Day Suit was on the way after Insomniac teased it last month, the addition of the MARVEL Tōkon Suit came as a complete surprise.

The studio hinted at the announcement through a short countdown on its official social media channels before revealing both outfits in-game.

Players can now unlock:

• Brand New Day Suit – Inspired by the newest Spider-Man film.
• MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls Suit – Based on the upcoming Marvel fighting game from ARC System Works.

Both costumes are included as a free update and can be claimed simply by updating the game.

New PS5 Pro Enhancements Included

The latest patch isn’t limited to cosmetic additions.

Insomniac has also introduced several improvements for PlayStation 5 Pro, including:

• Enhanced PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) support.
• A new Power Saver Mode.
• Additional performance and visual optimizations.

The update is available to all players, and neither of the new suits requires a pre-order or special edition purchase.

The same costume is arriving in Marvel Rivals as part of the game’s latest cosmetic lineup, alongside several MCU-inspired skins and the new Age of Ultron: Path to Doomsday event.

The coordinated release highlights Marvel’s growing effort to bring shared costume designs across multiple games.

What’s Next for Insomniac?

While Spider-Man 2 continues receiving post-launch support, Insomniac Games is now focused on its next major PlayStation exclusive, Marvel’s Wolverine.

The upcoming action game is set to expand Insomniac’s Marvel universe with a darker, more mature adventure centered around Logan. Although developers have confirmed that Spider-Man will not appear in Wolverine, recent comments from Peter Parker actor Yuri Lowenthal suggest another Spider-Man project could already be in development.

For now, Spider-Man 2 players can jump back into New York wearing two stylish new costumes, with both the Brand New Day and MARVEL Tōkon suits available as free rewards in the latest update.
