Resident Evil Requiem and Code: Veronica Remake Could Receive Major Story Expansions

Capcom may be planning substantial post-launch support for its next two Resident Evil releases, according to a well-known industry insider. A new report claims that both Resident Evil Requiem and the upcoming Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake are set to receive large single-player story expansions after launch.

While nothing has been officially confirmed by Capcom, the rumor suggests the publisher is shifting its post-release strategy toward premium narrative DLC instead of developing standalone Resident Evil spin-off games.

Insider Claims Major DLC Is in Development

The information comes from longtime Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem, who has built a reputation for accurately leaking details about the franchise before official announcements.

According to the insider, Capcom has recently decided to prioritize “major several-hour-long DLC story expansions” for both Resident Evil Requiem and Code: Veronica Remake.

The report suggests this approach is intended to fill the gap while the company currently has no Resident Evil spin-off titles actively in development.

If accurate, both games would receive substantial new story content rather than smaller cosmetic or challenge-based DLC packs.

Requiem DLC May Arrive After Code: Veronica

Although both expansions are reportedly planned, players shouldn’t expect additional content for Resident Evil Requiem anytime soon.

According to Dusk Golem, the current plan is for Requiem’s story expansion to release after the launch of Code: Veronica Remake, placing it further down Capcom’s release schedule.

That would mean Requiem’s post-launch campaign could still be quite some time away, even after the base game launches.

Capcom Hasn’t Confirmed the Plans

As with any insider report, the information should be treated as speculation until Capcom makes an official announcement.

The publisher has not confirmed:

  • Story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem.
  • Story DLC for Code: Veronica Remake.
  • A release schedule for future expansions.
  • Any changes to its Resident Evil roadmap.

However, Dusk Golem has a strong track record when it comes to Resident Evil leaks, which is why many fans are paying close attention to the latest claims.

A New Direction for Resident Evil?

If the report proves accurate, Capcom could be adopting a new post-launch strategy for the series.

Instead of releasing separate spin-off titles between major entries, the company may choose to expand its mainline games with multi-hour story campaigns, allowing players to revisit familiar characters and locations without waiting years for an entirely new release.

For now, fans will need to wait for official confirmation, but the possibility of substantial expansions for both Resident Evil Requiem and Code: Veronica Remake is likely to generate plenty of excitement as Capcom’s future Resident Evil roadmap continues to unfold.
