Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has officially revealed its fifth and final playable team during EVO 2026, introducing Blade, Loki, and Deadpool alongside the previously announced Ghost Rider.
The four characters form the Samurai Outriders, completing the game’s launch roster while also bringing a brand-new stage and the first details about the upcoming Open Beta.
Samurai Outriders Officially Revealed
Many fans expected Ghost Rider to be joined by members of the Midnight Suns, but developer Arc System Works took a different approach.
Instead, the studio assembled a squad of anti-heroes and unpredictable fighters under the Samurai Outriders banner, combining supernatural powers, swordplay, and chaotic personalities.
Each newcomer introduces a distinctly different fighting style.
Blade Brings Aggressive Weapon-Based Combat
Blade is built around relentless close-range pressure.
His moveset combines:
- Muramasa sword attacks
- Dual machine guns
- Razor-sharp glaives
The iconic vampire hunter can seamlessly switch between melee and ranged combat, making him one of the most versatile offensive characters revealed so far.
Loki Uses Illusions and Magic
Loki represents the opposite end of the spectrum.
Rather than overpowering opponents with brute force, the God of Mischief relies on deception, magical projectiles, ice attacks, teleportation, and illusion-based abilities to confuse enemies before striking.
His unpredictable movement appears designed to frustrate opponents and create constant mind games.
Deadpool Pays Tribute to Fighting Game History
Deadpool may be the trailer’s biggest fan favorite.
His moveset is packed with references to classic fighting games, featuring animations and attacks inspired by legendary franchises while maintaining the character’s trademark fourth-wall-breaking humor.
The trailer even includes a surprise cameo from Polygon Man, PlayStation’s infamous original mascot.
Asgard Confirmed as a New Stage
Alongside the character reveals, Arc System Works also unveiled Asgard as a brand-new arena.
The stage spans five interconnected locations throughout the legendary realm:
- Observatory
- Bifrost Bridge
- Throne Room
- Treasure Vault
- Yggdrasil, the World Tree
Visually, it looks set to become one of the game’s most spectacular battlefields.
Marvel Tōkon Open Beta Begins This July
Players won’t have to wait long to try the game themselves.
The global Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Open Beta will be available on PlayStation 5 and PC from July 24 through July 26, with Blade confirmed as one of the playable fighters.
The beta is expected to give players their first hands-on experience with the nearly complete launch roster ahead of the game’s full release.
